I See What You're Saying!
I'm doing something! I got this idea that we (that's you and me and everyone else who comes by here) could do a video post of ourselves on Sept. 30 and link back here and then actually "see" what each person is saying, despite the fact that we "see" their words on the screen every day. Stop being so picky about my phraseology.
Are you confused? Because Jorge was confused when he read this. All I mean is, instead of typing out your post for September 30, you will have already videotaped yourself and uploaded it and posted it. Then you'll come back to Mr. Linky here and check in so that everyone will come see your video. For some reason, Jorge thought I was trying to get people to predict what they would say on their own blog on September 30. (Wha-Huh?)
Here's what I'm thinking for subject matter: Anything. As in average, everyday, unspectacular posts ... stories, memories, lists, dreams, questions, favorite quotes, household projects, comments on entertainment, dog tricks, what sport that you would be an Olympian in if only they had your activity in the games, theories about LOST, ponderings on why everyone heads for check out lines at the same moment, theories about whatever happened to Kimmy Gibbler, that story about the time you stopped your husband's vasectomy just as the instruments were flashing over his body (true story) ... you get the idea. I just know that when I went to She Speaks and saw the faces and heard the voices behind the narrative voices from the blogs that I read every day, I loved it. ("I loved it, y'all!")
Are you in? Oh come on! If you're concerned about personal security, you could video yourself outside or against a plain wall.
Come on! It'll be fun! I already have a couple of people who said they're in. This is going to be great fun. And I gave you lots of heads-up time.
As for my post, I haven't quite decided what to say just yet. If you want to email me questions, perhaps I could answer them on that post: lindacrow@comcast.net.
I hope you'll give it a shot. You gotta admit; it's different from the average carnival. Mainly because there are no prizes! (Unless you want to do that in your post.) But who needs prizes when we have wild and crazy fun??!!

I'm totally in. I posted a video of myself on Sunday and love doing it now. So much that I even posted some videos of our car ride to school this morning.
Now, don't think I'm vain or anything or consider myself a movie star, it's just fun.

I think the neatest part of this will be "hearing" the voices...and unfortunately you'll get to hear just how "southern" i am...i'll have to work on my Scarlet accent!

I'm thinking about participating, but I'm also thinking about how very very weird I look on video. My eyes do funny things. It's very unflattering. Unless I get a prize for unflattering--then I'd participate for sure.

er....maybe? I'm SO technically challenged....if the Girl would help me, maybe. But I can't even get her to change my really boring green background.....And I think my camera will only tape like 1 minute....
That sounds like a lot of fun! I don't know how to upload a video from my camera but I know I should so it could be revolutionary in my learning curve too. Sure glad I have a whole month to figure it out. Love, Annette

This will be really fun. I have to figure out the technical aspect like many others. But I'm in, barring unsforeseen technical difficulties.
That is a REALLY fun idea. Sadly, the only video camera we have is on our digital camera and it only tapes in little 30 second snippets. So maybe i won't be participating, but it'll be fun to see what everyone else comes up with.

LOVE the idea! Just today I finally figured out how to post a home-made video on my blog. Nine breath-taking seconds of a fire fighting plane dousing a brush fire. Well, breath-taking for me anyway since smoke is a major trigger for my asthma.
I hate having my picture taken OR video but this will be a good goal for me and one I know my kids will enjoy as we are separated by many, many miles these days. It will just take me from now until Sept. 30th to psych myself up for it. :-)

However, as a SAHM with three kids, I can hardly commit to dinner each night. So I'll be wishy-washy and say, "I'll try!"

This is something my husband has been encouraging me to do for a long time. Perhaps this is the catalyst to prod me to start. Now to think of a way to convince my teen son to swap laptops with me. His has all the fancy video stuff including the camera on top of the screen. Ah, guess I'll learn how to use the digital camera.
