Ultimate Blog Party 2009!

Ultimate Blog Party 2009

First -- Happy Spring, Everybody!

Don't let this whimsical, carefree greeting fool you; I'm not always so amiable. It's just that I live in Indiana, and we've been waiting to trade in black boots for kicky polka dot or hot pink shoes for so long that I had to give a little shout out to Spring.

So you’re clicking around the Ultimate Blog Party, eh? Congratulations on letting everything else in life slide while you "build community."

You have landed at 2nd Cup of Coffee, a place where I hope you’ll develop a new habit of stopping daily for the extra few moments it would take to sip a 2nd Cup. I try to write as if we’re sitting across the table from each other IRL. Except you can’t see my crazy eyes.

If you riddled this blog with "bullets," topics you would likely find are:

In a nutshell: Married almost 24 years, 3 kids (22, 20, 16), Writer, Blogger, Envelope Stuffer, Friend to all. Also, I'm a contributor to this book which just came out, and I'd like to give one away at the end of this party. I think the book would make a nice little addendum to someone's Mother's Day plans, whatever they are. So if you'd like to be entered, let me know in a comment.

Thanks for stopping by 2nd Cup. Please come back. And thanks to Five Minutes for Mom for sponsoring annual springtime fun. And that reminds me ... it's time to put on my hot pink ballerina flats and snap some pics of spring!

PS: I think we're supposed to list prizes we'd like. Dear Santa:
58 - Kitchen Aid Artisan Stand Mixer
Provided by: Moms Who Think
(winner's choice of color, $349.99 retail value )

Who couldn’t use a Target gift card?

I switched my brown purse over to my pink purse tonight! Gotta be ready for spring when it gets here tomorrow morning at 7:44 am!!!! I have ditched my coat and boots. I don't care if it snows 15 inches...I'm not looking back.

Hi Linda...sorry I've been so absent. Now i am caught up though!
6000 messages? WOW, that is amazing!
I'd love to be entered for this book. I could actually receive this prize here where I live without too much hassle! All the other give-aways are so hard to enter because they would have to be mailed to my parent's house in the US!
Anyways, fun pics...and enjoy those hot pink flats!

Who wouldn't want to own the book?! Of course I want one :-)

So you're celebrating the first day of Spring as we celebrate the first day of fall. I'm sitting in my chair wearing my heavy robe, my hubby's lap quilt over my legs, and my fuzzy pink socks adorning my feet. We leave the windows open at night so the night air cools things down. A fact we appreciate later in the day when the heat index rises into the 80s. But in the mornings it's "muy fresco!"

Have have gotten rid of the winter coat and brought out my orange spring coat. I don't care how cold it will get. I'm done with winter.
The book looks great. It's always great to have a new devotional book. Count me in.
Have a great weekend!!!

I thought I was the only person who wore hot pink shoes. Yay.

Congrats on the book publication. So cool! Isn't it exciting to walk further and further the writing path?????

Are you going to any writer's conferences this year?

we had a tiny bit of snow on the ground this morning. hopefully that's the last of it for a long while.

I love coffee, so this is my kind of blog. Enjoy the blog party. :)

We're having pancake wrapped sausages, french toast sticks, scrambled eggs, strawberries and bananas for choco dipping and blonde brownies with fudge topping! No carb counting this weekend :) ...and I'll be having coffee, and coffee...did i mention, coffee??!!

Popping by from 5minutesformom.com blog party! Hi! I would send you some real spring weather from southern florida. The only thing is, is that it would come with some rain and ALOTS of allergies. I'm not sure you would want that. Although outside the occasional rains & lots of allergy, the weather has been so lovely.

Looks like you've got a lot of great posts to read. I'll definately be back to catch up. That book sounds lovely too.

Hi Linda! You always make me smile! I went out yesterday in sandals only to have to avoid getting my feet wet in the snow. It's gone around my place, but apparently not everywhere in the city. Congratulations on getting your devotional published. Please put my name in for the draw. I'd love you to autograph it if I win!
