My daughter Katie is in middle school and every picture I take of her has that same expression, like give me my space, or like a death stare that will bore holes thru your head.

What a beautiful girl! My "baby" will be 17 next Spring.I think it makes it extra hard to let go when it's our last babies.

I agree with letting go...it's so, so very hard.

Kudos to you, Mom, for a job well done!

Happy Birthday!
My 2 oldest sons happened to be glancing over my shoulder while I was reading your blog (ages 16 and 18). There comment? "She's hot!"
What a beautiful girl!

She's just as beautiful now as when she was a baby. Hey, in that first picture "big hair" must have been still popular j/k.

Loving the leaves theme and the pile of leaves quote!

Good afternoon Linda, wishing your daughter a belated "happy birthday". Kristin is beautiful and I love the head of hair she had at birth. When I worked in the nursery, I had a ball combing and styling baby's hair..

Daughter's will always stand by your side in life..you never lose the closeness!!Thanks for sharing with us. Hugs, Baba

The look on her face in the middle school pic is priceless. Cracked me right up.

I so love those pictures of you holding her through all her stages! And how relaxed she is in her middle school one! Ha! Wonder of I could get my 23 & 27 year old sons to do that?!

Ah, my second born has a birthday today. He is six but even that makes me cling. :)

You have a great blog I'm going to participate in one of the meme's and hopefully get to know you better. I'm glad I found you.

What a sweet post! Happy birthday--even though it's late now---to your daughter! Yes, I'm learning about holding on to the girls. I hold my boys, but it's different.

Hugs,

Susan
