Socks

It has happened again. I have selected a pair of socks that slide down my feet and bunch up under my arch in my shoes.

The last time I did this, I got so frustrated at work that I yanked them off and threw them away in the trash can under my desk.

Not a big deal if you live in TX, but in Siberia, you also get the sting of "no sock" remorse five minutes later.

ARGH.

When you find a good pair of socks that stay up and do not scrunch down as the day wears on, please share it with the bloggy world! I've been looking for years and never found a pair yet that stay in good shape after more than one or two washes. Why can't some genius invent a decent sock?!

I shouldn't laugh...really I shouldn't..but yes I am laughing.

I gotta say, I've not had that problem before, but I mainly wear plain athletic socks. Boring, I know.

hahaha -- just the does of laughter I needed this morning! :P Thanks for always being so much fun!

I hate when my socks do that. It makes for a long day to say the least

I feel your pain. That drives me bonkers.

Even in Texas!

That just happened to me a day or so ago. I'm so glad to hear I'm not the only one with unruly socks in this world.

I so know what you mean, Lid. I hate socks that fall. I'm forever pulling up my socks. I have a brown pair that does this. Why do I keep them? I'd rather wear "dirty" socks...okay my socks usually aren't dirty but one-day worn, slightly worn.

I HATE it when that happens! Remember back in the olden days (before we were born so you probably DON'T remember) that men had sock suspenders! I say, bring back the sock suspenders!

But socks that scrunch down in your shoe are WAY worse. I am so worried about my socks and shoe situation I keep an extra pair of socks and sneakers in my classroom. Mostly because of the "i hate wet socks in wet shoes" scenario of living in CA with poor drainage.

I feel your pain (of rolled up sock against your arch)

Oh yes, I know that pain. But I have to say that since I learned to knit my socks they fit perfectly and never do the bunchy thing. And let me tell you, my toes are always warm and delicious. For toes that is.

Why is it that a civilization that can invent clothing that clings to every curve and bump above your knees cannot invent a sock that will stay up AND look fashionable if anyone sees your ankles?

Lycra has a lot to answer for, but this would be a huwomanitarian use of the stuff.

That is irritating. Or when you have on knee high hose and they stay up until 30 minutes after arriving at work, at which time the elastic gives and they gather around your ankles. Yuck.

I hate when that happens! Thanks for the giggles.

Oh, that is a pet peeve of mine!! I hate socks that roll down! :)
Please let us know when you find socks that don´t do that!

Do you have narrow feet? haha! I can't say I have that problem. Typically, the toe wears out before the elastic.

Interesting post today, Lid!

my husband wears the 'goldtoe' socks for that very reason...
in the winter i wear a wool/cotton/poly mix and they seem to stay up better, they're actually boot socks :)...bought them @ wallyworld ...
i threw some away recently too...
