How the "Wow" Gets in "Wowmart"

Eventful Wowmart trip, as usual. Little girl in lot outside her car with alarm blaring, sobbing, NO ONE helping, gma in the car not long for this world, Mom in store somewhere looking for Funyons, no doubt. Sweetest little defenseless thing, scared, embarrassed. Took her in & found Mom-of-the-Year strolling around. Grrrrrrr.

Okay. That's when Dept. of Children Services needs to be called in. I think I would've started there. But I'm just mean that way. Just sayin'.

Yikes! So glad you were the one to find her rather than someone less kind.

When I was a child my parents left us in the car regularly as it was a relatively safe and accepted practice where I grew up. These days I don't care where you live it is just not safe to leave a child in the car with no, or inadequate, supervision ... EVER for any length of time for any reason! But it still happens and it makes me mad!

That is just too sad. I think what is even worse is no one else stepped up to the plate. People need to get involved and step outside their own little world.

really? she was in the parking lot? sometimes I think maybe not everyone should be allowed to reproduce. Thanks for being the "village" for that little girl.

This sort of thing should not be happening, there are plenty of warnings around about the dangers of leaving children and pets in cars!

I am so pleased you found and rescued the little girl and managed to find her so called mum. Definitely a big GRRRRRR!!!

This happened recently in Australia, a man rescued the distressed child from the car by smashing a window and waited for the mum to return. When she did so, there was a crowd gathered and a TV camera and did she cop some abuse. She went into the shopping centre and got side tracked, I think 40 minutes it took for her to return. It was shown on the local news bulletin. I think she may have been reported.

Have a great day,
Tania

My pet peeve. Mom's who run in...and leave their children in the car...yesterday I was there...and there were two cute little boys...car was off...windows up...and they had been sitting there long enough...that their little faces were red. I started to call DHR. I went in for a graduation card...and decided...if they were still there when I came out. I was calling my good friends at DHR....as I left the store they were pulling off.

That could have had such a different outcome. So glad you were there!!

My girls are old enough now that they are starting to realize the difference between the atmosphere at Walmart vs. Target. :)

Up here there are signs in the Walmart parking lot that camers are pressent. Doesn't anyone look at those and go right out and help people? So glad you were there to help out. Gold star for you!!!

I was in a vacation place where the mom was so into taking pictures her little one got lost. I took the little one to her mom and the mom didn't even look worried.
