Spring (Give Me a) Break

So my daughter is coming home for spring break today. I'm hoping we can have as an exciting a week together as we did last year at spring break when she came into my office and helped me with menial tasks.

Seriously. What to do in a small town where spring break falls at the tail end of winter?

Well, we'll have to get some groceries since she's not a vegetarian.
We might see a movie.

Shoo, that was easy! Spring break 2013: 'twill be a year to remember! (probably in a sad picture which I will post next year.)

My daughter came home for spring break last Friday and we have had the same situation. (We live in central IL) and I have had to work the whole time too which doesnt help. She has mostly been sleeping in and then we eat one of her favorites for dinner. We have done a bit of shopping, hung out with some family, and this weekend we are heading up to Chicago for a play. I hope it wasnt a total bust for her. :) It has been nice having her around even when nothing is going on. I am excited for summer when she will be around more often.

You left out how many times y'all are going to go hug on that sweet Grand Baby and niece!

Our spring break is winding down as yours is starting. Have a wonderful time with your girl!!

Have fun with a pj night and old movies, or eat pizza until it comes out her ears! You will simply enjoy her company I know.

I never cared about going anywhere for spring break - my mom would take me shopping for new clothes, cook my favorite food & let me read a lot. It was like being queen!

I love this age though...doing meaningless tasks together is somehow fun : ) My youngest will be home for close to a week...I did book us side by side mani/pedis for one day which we are both looking forward to. Enjoy time with your girl!

My daughter was home for spring break last week, and we had a great time doing basically nothing. We watched the British mini-series "North and South" and got started on the BBC's "Sherlock" (we're definitely in British TV mode right now.) We shared leisurely cups of coffee and browsed a used bookstore. We shared our favorite music with each other. I enjoyed listening to her play the piano and sing. We WERE going to take walks, but the weather was hideous. All in all, we just enjoyed being together!

hey! where did you go? we just "conversed" via pm last night, and now suddenly your fb account has been disabled. hope everything is okay... are you just taking a break from fb? or was there something that provoked you to leave? (or both?)

i don't have an email address for you, so i had to look you up this way. and i don't see an email link anywhere on your blog or profile, so this was the best i could do. you don't need to actually let it post.

if you're going to be off fb more than a few days, drop me an email at bjwinkel629@gmail.com so we can at least keep in touch a bit.

i rarely read blogs anymore (bc doing so makes me want to blog again), but if you are going to be off fb, i am going to have to start reading this again to get my "lid" fix...

again, hope everything is okay.

I stopped by here to check on you. You came to my mind today and I checked your fb wall. Looks like your taking a break.

1) I haven't been here in ages, but I'm so happy to be back by.

2) You've not written in a month; spring break must have done you in.

3) I just noticed that you had 666 followers. And if it were me, that would drive me mad. So I'm now number 667 to break a possible bad-luck cycle. Now you will have a string of good luck, I'm sure. ;) Hopefully someone will come along and even it back out at 668, and then all will be perfect.

4) That picture of your daughter is priceless!
