The Sounds of My Life

There's that strange quiet when a blanket of snow insulates the world. It's hard to describe to people who live where this never happens, but when it snows like this, when you step outside, your hearing actually changes. Then there is the plaintive cawing of crows ... and the singing of a Crow. Yes, singing while shoveling. I love him.

It is an amazing lack of sound. It is one of the times that I do like snow. Late evening when the street lights shine on the layers of white. It is beautiful.

We have stillness like that - until the snow blowers come out :)

We are melting from this ourselves. I love the brightness when it should be dark, the white makes everything feel clean and the quiet.
