Random Dozen 9.9.09

1. What is something that you have changed your mind about either recently or over a number of years?

2. Choose either subject, but does your a) church b) job feel more like a dental chair experience or an easy chair (recliner) experience?

3. Kisses or hugs? I actually typed "huts," which might have been a more interesting question.

4. What do you think is the biggest threat to families today?

5. A day after you grocery shop, you open a perishable item that is horribly spoiled. Do you take your receipt back to the store to be reimbursed or just throw it away and forget about it?

6. What personality trait (feel free to address good or bad or both) do you notice yourself adopting from your parents?

7. How many slices of bread do you leave in the bottom of the bag when you throw it away? Two? Three? Just the heel? None? (I really want to know if you eat the heel.)

8. What mispronunciation or usage error really irritates you?

9. In honor of the uniqueness of today's date, what does the numeral 9 mean to you? (Any special life moments attached to the 9th? Are you the 9th kid in your family? Can you count by 9s really fast? etc.)

10. Does the general color palette in your closet match the colors you chose to decorate your home with?

11. When you're hanging out with friends in the kitchen, do you automatically ask to help, or do you sit there and chat until the host asks if you'd like to help? I'm not implying that the 2nd choice stems from rudeness or laziness, just not a first-response like it is for some people.

12. Let's end on a pleasant note: What do you enjoy about September the most?

Thanks for participating!

Ok first I just have to say that I have an incredible urge for donuts now. Thank goodness it's my grand-daughter's b-day and I will get cake (with butter cream frosting) very soon. :)

I'm going to plan to try to join you but will have to do it tomorrow.

Fun stuff!

Yippee! I loved the first one. I snatched this and am off to compose! I'll be back later to sign Mr. Linky!

(I just put you on my feed reader, so I'll be back later, and later, and later ...) ;)

1. I have really changed my thinking about heaven, hell and the afterlife.

2. Both are like an easy chair :)

3. HUGS. Kisses are for the two men in my life only. I would so not be a good European...

4. Wireless technology. Who has time to look up from their laptop/Blackberry/cell phone any more?

5. Return it. One of the few things in life I'm assertive about is getting what I pay for.

6. Wow. That answer could go on for pages. But to stay positive, I'd say the best I got from my Dad was warmth and the best I got from my Mom was loyalty.

7. None! I eat every last piece. Waste not, want not ;)

8. Another answer that could for on for pages. It might be the word "comprise" -- a group comprises members, it's not comprised OF members.

9. Hmmm. Nothing I can think of!

10. Yes. I'm extremely predictable. I own maybe two pieces of clothing that aren't green, brown, gray or deep red.

11. I used to wait to be asked, but I've had to train myself to ask first.

12. The first day of autumn, of course!!! Oh and, I love walking or sitting near a school during football practice and hearing the whistles. YAY FALL!

I played...I played!! Have a great week!!

9. Today is my daughter's birthday so yeah, guess you could say the #9 is special to me :-)

Oh, and I use the heels of bread in my meatloaf or hamburgers -- ripped into small pieces and soaked in milk.

Yay! I did it... but now I'm way too tired to comment on any one elses. Perhaps tomorrow.

SouthLakesMom said...

Finally, I get back to comment on yours! I got really distracted by some good answers in your responders!
#1 Milk shakes and fries. Yeah. I hate that the gym thing only works if you do it consistently. Where's the "PAUSE AND HOLD" button? #4 - yep, you're right on that one too. Again though, nothing new under the the New Testament...cult of Diana? Ick! #8 - good reminder for me to leave the nits alone today...if I can.

Thanks for doing this! Have a great weekend!

Um... I may have to cry if you don't pay my random dozen a visit. Either that or I will become bitter and resentful and answer every one of next weeks questions with how my self esteem rests solely on whether or not you comment on my post of your meme. Hmmm... crying may be easier. lol ;-)
