Project 365 for January 5-10, 2009

This is the 2nd week of this project, and I have to tell you that I struggled to find something memory-worthy, and when I did, I didn't have my camera. But I still maintain that I just want a ho-hum snapshot moment of some point in each day, so I guess I accomplished that.

Sunday - I have a spoon in my mouth because Sara who is hosting this carnival told us that you can keep your eyes from watering when you chop onions if you will hold a spoon in your mouth like so. I've been doing this ever since, and it works. And in a double blind study, my daughter had her roommate try this because the roommate is highly susceptible to onion crying. They claim it works. Thanks, Sara! (Disclaimer: Neither girl is actually blind.)

Monday - Back to work. This is my building. I normally go in under the blue awning. If you're ever near Oneighty Muncie, drop in and I will give you a tour.

Tuesday - I took this photo right off my TV, so it counts! It was my first time to watch the season premiere of this show, which I then posted about. I also watched Lifetime's Dietribe this week. Guess what I'm interested in right now.

Wednesday - I love my Eiffel Tower lamp and moved it from the spare room to the kitchen so that I can actually turn it on and enjoy it. It's kind of my substitute Christmas tree. I miss Christmas.

Thursday - Self-portrait, black and white. Told you I was struggling.

Friday - My cute little sweetie playing the piano with her royal blue fingernails. I love this child so much.

Saturday - Column in the Muncie Star Press

**Extra, Extra! Please be sure to visit tomorrow for a contest announcement!**

Okay, my frustrating week has cont. I went to Rockyou and tried to get a slide show for my pics (mind you a wait till 10 last night) and couldn't get it working. I followed Heather's instructions for Mr. Linky, couldn't get it working, then when I tried to post to blogger last night....it wouldn't work!!!! I have decided I am officially inept at this!!!!

Anyway, my pics are up!

Esthermay told me she found out at Xmas that sterling silver spoons work even better..hmmm....a silver spoon in my mouth....

Love the pics!!!

LOVE your b/w self portrait! Classic! I could've taken the same pic on Tues ... because I LOVE me some Biggest Loser. Of course when one of the trainers said it does no good if your are sitting on the couch eating ice cream while you watch ... I felt a little twinge of guilt. But only a little one, because it was PIZZA, not ice cream!

I've never heard of the spoon thing...neat trick. Of course, the other thing you can do that I know works is buy only Texas 1015 onions or Georgia Vidalia onions. Yummm...

Cute pics, Lid. :-) Mine will be up this afternoon.

LInda,
I started out the week taking pictures but to be honest I can only take so many pictures of my family doing school, watching TV or checking their Facebook! ... Not much goes on during the day here. Maybe I will settle for "weekly" pictures! : )

I LOVE the Eiffel Tower lamp. So cute!! Where did you find that?

Have a blessed day,
Julie

Not that I think Sara is a liar, but I can't believe the spoon thing works.

What if a crazy person shows up at your work now and waits under the blue awning? (I'm joking)

I love your Eiffel Tower too!

I would really like to do this but am not ready yet to have the camera available like some of you orhter bloggers have. Maybe later I will have to try out my new camera and get some pictures.

I love your Eifel Tower Lamp, that is very cool! Will have to try the spoon thing too. Anyone know why it works? Hmmm, need to google. Have a great Sunday!

A spoon in your mouth?! I can't tell you how many tears i have shed over onions in my lifetime! I'm so trying that!

The black and white of you is great! And I love the lamp. I have decided that when I am running dry on ideas for a picture, I will do goofy things like dump my purse out and take a picture of the contents. Take a picture of a favorite item (like your lamp) or things that are meaningful to me. COuld even be a verse in the Bible that I read. I took a picture of the sea of flannel in my husband's closet for my first day! When we were first married I tried so hard to "change" him and instilled a "no flannel" law in our home. Slowly I found myself buying shirts for him...and now I love him in flannel. I'm so goofy. Anyway, sorry this is a book. Keep snapping those pictures!

You're just a doll! Great pictures!

I was always taught to hold a fresh piece of bread in my teeth while chopping onions which actually DOES work but the bread gets all soggy with slobber and starts breaking apart. Usually I try to buy sweet onions, such as Vidalias (a Georgia product! not sure they're available everywhere?) and I don't have the sting.

Happy Sunday!
love and hugs!

So that really works for not crying with onions?! COOL! That's a spoon right?

Susan said...

I have heard that spoon thing before.

I am loving this meme. I just don't have the umph to participate. You have some very clever photos here...and I think the Eiffel Tower looks perfect in your kitchen!
