Newspaper Column 3.21.09

This newspaper column is a re-write of a piece I did for Internet Cafe. The newspaper audience is broader and less homogeneous, so I edited it appropriately. And at the time of the Internet Cafe piece, my child had not yet accumulated 6,000 text messages in one month!

Great article!

When I bought my son's cell phone, I was going to get 1000 free texts a month. After all, who would use any where near that many??

The salesman asked the age of the user and told me he strongly suggested either no texting or unlimited texting. I caved and got the unlimited....that thing NEVER stops vibrating!

According to your article I guess I am 25. Yay... I love texting. Thanks for the reminder to be as attentive to what God is trying to tell me. I came over here expecting to hear about the chili cook-off?!
Have a great day!
Love,
Angie

That was great. Especially finding out I'm only in my 30's. :-)

A really good wake up call, Linda, to be so readily available to the Lord.

thanks for putting me back in my 25th year, even if only for a moment. I enjoy texting, too, and it ends up saving me gas when dd gives me a heads up she's staying after and I don't have to sit and wait or make two trips :)

last night, the immediate communication was appreciated during prom...35 miles away, in a car with a 17yo boy...even though I knew him well, it still gave me shivers.
All's well, home safely. Wonder how many times they texted each other during prom...(meet me in the bathroom...he stepped on my foot...did you see her dress?...where'd they get this band?) :)
