Tomorrow is Scarf Day, and I'm Excited: An Ode To Scarves

In Honor of Scarf Day (Apologies to Crosby, Stills and Nash)

"Teach Your Children Well"

You, who are on the road
Must have a code
That you can live by
And so you must buy some scarves
And try to get
Yourself a good buy.

Teach your children well
Their father's scarves
Were merely bad ties,
And lead
Them onto dreams
Of the ones they'll pick,
The ones they'll bow-tie.

Don't you ever tie them tight
If they choked them you would cry,
So just look at them and sigh
And know they need scarves.

See ya at the carnival!

I am Grasshopper...teach me to snatch the scarf from your hand and tie it in a lovely way master. I have only worn a scarf once...I want to learn!

Scarf (wax) on...scarf (wax) off. Okay, I'm mixing my movies, but the meaning is the same...I am clueless on this fashion trend.

I love scarves and have quite a few. They range from hooded scarves for freezing weather to lightleight scarves to wear in your hair.

Count me in!

You crack me up, as usual. Although I'll probably be grumbling later because now you got this tune rolling around in my head.

I am scarf-challenged. Never got the bug.

Except with your blog posts. I scarf 'em right up.

I love it! I laughed so hard, and the words fit so perfectly with the song.

My friend, I *knew* you were a poet! And you said you weren't...

Now look what you did.... I was going to make progress on taxes and some paperwork but I'd MUCH rather play with scarves and participate in this carnival. THANK YOU for a diversion. : )

I am scarf challenged as well, due to the fact I live in a warm state. Tomorrow we are going to be in the 50's so I might just have to wear one:), any tips?

When my sister was living in London, my others sisters, my mother and I all went over for a girls' weekend! My sister got us all scarves for the occasion, and then my London sister showed me how they wear it over there--who knew?

That is one of my Dad's absolute favorite songs. He had 4 girls. I think he's still looking for answers. Anyhow, he has the lyrics taped to the inside of a kitchen cabinet. He wouldn't appreciate this--I do!!!

And, surprisingly, it won't be a brown scarf. Brown jacket, not brown scarf....

Your "cover" of the song is hillarious! It made me think of when my sister and I made up a whole new set of words to the song Downtown because our dog was being annoying. We changed it tow Downdog and went from there..
