Diane

January 6, 1958 ~ April 21, 2010

Our hearts feel empty; our hearts feel full. We were so blessed to know you and be loved by you. You left us on a Wednesday, our night. We will spend the evening looking at photos, toasting you, remembering your smile and every nuance. You live in our hearts as long as we're here; you live in eternity with the One who lovingly made you. We miss you already, but we'll see you soon, sweet friend.

Matthew 11:28 - "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."

Psalm 30:5b

Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.

Psalm 30:11

You have turned my mourning into dancing for me; You have put off my sackcloth and girded me with gladness.

Revelation 21:3-4

Then I heard a mighty voice from the throne and I perceived its distinct words, saying, See! The abode of God is with men, and He will live (encamp, tent) among them; and they shall be His people, and God shall personally be with them and be their God. God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and death shall be no more, neither shall there be anguish (sorrow and mourning) nor grief nor pain any more, for the old conditions and the former order of things have passed away.

HALLELUJUAH!

My heart rejoices for Diane but aches for you and the rest of the GG. How fitting that she passed on a Wednesday.

Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints. (Psalm 116:15)

Hugs to you, my friend.

What a wonderful group of friends she had surrounding her during these last weeks of her life here as we know it. She's with Jesus now, and she is happy and healthy. Diane's story, and that of your's with the support you and the rest of your group provided, has moved me to tears.

I'm sure that Diane probably told you how much you blessed her life.

I will be praying for comfort for all of you. A place will always remain empty in your hearts...to be filled with the joy that only a reunion in heaven will fill.

Hugs to you, Linda.

Linda, I'm so sorry. Even though we don't mourn as those who have no hope, it still hurts. At least it does for everyone but her.

I sure wish I could hug your precious neck and cry with you right now. Please know that I am from a distance. God will apply His balm to your heart as time goes on, and hope will continue to arise in your heart that you will see her again.

Love you so much dear sister,
Chel

Lid, I'm so very sorry for your loss. Hang on to Jeremiah 31:13: "I'll convert their weeping into laughter, lavishing comfort, invading their grief with joy."

He will.

Diane is in a paradise more beautiful than we can imagine, more peaceful than we can conceive -- no more pain, no more trouble. I know you will miss her very much here -- and when one day you rejoin her, it will be as if no time has passed.

Hugs,
Catherine

Praying for you, Linda. This poem is so special to me and I thought you might like it:

God looked around his garden
and He found an empty place
He then looked upon this earth
and saw her weary face
He put his arms around her
and lifted her to rest
God's garden must be beautiful
He always takes the best
He new that she was suffering
He knew she was in pain
He knew she would never
get well on earth again
So He closed her weary eyelids
and whispered "peace be thine"
up to Heaven with hands
gentle and so kind
it breaks our hearts to lose her
But she did not go alone
for part of us went with her
The day God called her home.

Linda...I'm so sorry that your friend, Diane, lost her brave fight against cancer. My good friend Donna is now battling breast cancer....and this mention of Diane reminds me of how lucky we are to know such beautiful people that God placed in our lives. We never know when we'll be called home. So while we're here...treasure those friendships and moments.

What a beautiful way to memorialize your dear friend. You are such a special woman, as I'm sure she was. I'm so glad you're my sister in Christ. I hope we can become dear friends in heaven one day, since we don't "see" each other much here on earth. :)

Care to have a cup of hot tea with me up there (not any time soon, I hope)?

I'm sorry to hear about your loss Lidna :( I've also lost a family and friends to cancer and it's tough. A great way that I've come to "peace" with it, is my family makes a donation to the American Cancer Society every year in memory of my grandmother.

Remember that Diane will always be watching over you, and think of how much of the good times you've had together.

Lots of Love
