WWJD ... What Would Jillian Demand?

There's my ticker. And I'm telling YOU about it.

Ruh-roh. Now it's set it stone.

Yes, I purchased Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred because I've been wanting to beat myself up lately, especially since I dropped my phone in the ocean and my camera twice and killed it.

So, you know, I might as well shred myself.

You all know I love to run. [And let me plug the best blogger-mom-runner blog in the Uni: See My Mom Run! written by Melanie Dorsey, who has a great story to share; go visit her even if you're not into running.]

But running works the big ol' hinder muscles and leg muscles. It doesn't do much for noodle arms or arms that veterans mistakenly grab and wave at parades.

And the midsection, known in the exercise world as the "core," well, it could use a little attention, too.

So I picked Jillian up, half excited with anticipation, half scared, because, well, I'm a fan of Biggest Loser, and she is mean, er, tough.

So for 10 days, I do level one. Then I begin level 2 and continue for 10 days. Level 3 for 10 days follows, and voila, I am shredded into tiny ribbons that will have to be paper mached back together.

Here is a visual to make my point.

Today was Day 3, and I'm feeling it, but by golly, I don't wimp out because I believe she SEES me through that screen.

So for the next 30 days, mentally, I'm wearing a bracelet that says WWJD, and you know what that will be representing. (see post title)

And above all, I will remember this gem of wisdom which I've had in my sidebar for months:

First of all, thanks for the fabulous shout out for
#2 The Shred really works! My advice is to start with 3 lb weights then go to 5.

C. Since you are making this "all spiritual and stuff with your WWJD" I guess I should get my upper body back in gear and start shredding again.
Because I have recently noticed more "flappage" when I blow dry my hair!

4. Soon you will have Jillian's shred script down pat...Buddy. And it will be very annoying.

That's fabulous. I'm going to run my first 5K in September. Your ticker is a great idea. Thanks for sharing. And, good luck on your shred! Blessings, SusanD

Let me know how it goes. I need to do SOMETHING. I don't like her, particularly however. I read a quote that said she would only adopt because she wouldn't DESTROY her body by getting pregnant. I mean, really. That ain't nothing maternal about THAT!

But if it works, I might be lulled into ignoring her obviously non-materal attitude. :-)

Been there done does work, if you can keep those pesky calories down too. I thought my butt and legs were going to secede from the Amy union by the end of the first week and sitting down...well to do anything was very painful. But I kept on and the pain did go away.

Good luck and I can't wait to hear all about it.

I love this video and have only done phase 1. I'm with you on the 10 day changes! Oh, and Saturday I ran my 1st mile NON-stop!! You'd have thought I ran a marathon the way I was smiling all day. I went further on Sunday and a little further last night. I can't believe how strong I feel afterwards! My goal, since I turn 40 October 5th is to run my 1st 5K the middle of Oct. Thanks for the ispiration!! Love ya!

Okay, after seeing your anniversary pictures, I sure don't know what you think you have to shred! But your motivation is enviable.

I'm so looking forward to seeing how you do, Linda! I've thought about trying it, but haven't.
You can do it!!!
Maybe you'll be my motivation! We'll see! :-)

Yeah ... I did it. Well, not for 30 days, but 16 and then sporadically thereafter.

It is a great workout though.

You go!
