Wham Bam Thank You Ma'ammogram

Well, I just completed the annual "Wham, bam, thank you, Ma'am-mogram." I rewarded myself with a mocha frappe for taking care of myself. Of course, I can always find a reason to reward myself with a frap. A mammogram is certainly as good a reason as any.

At the end of the procedure, the tech asked, "Have you lost weight in the last year?"

Proudly, I responded, "How did you know? Yes, I've lost between 15-20 lbs."

She said, "It shows. It shows."

"OH." [Insert sound of balloon deflating.]

Well, the mocha fraps will undo that!

I've lost weight this year, too -- I suppose I see the same situation when I go for my next mammo. Sigh. Why is it always the boobs going first???

LOL...couldn't help but laugh!! It is a shame that usually that's the first place us women lose weight!!

Glad you survived the mammogram!!

Don't worry ... you could have lost that 15-20 lbs. later in your 50's like I did -- so what the weight loss didn't reduce, age and gravity did. :-(

Hi! I just stumbled across your blog! Yes, good for you for taking care of yourself! BUT, that wasn't very nice of the tech to say what she did, was it?!
Love the name of your blog, too, BTW!

Ah heck, Lid. When I saw your pictures from your Siesta Keys vacation I was a teensy bit jealous 'cause you look great! Don't let that tech make you feel otherwise :)

OK, I'm dense today. I don't get how the tech was offensive...someone's going to need to spell it out for this brain-friend chica :)

My yearly Mammogram this year was scheduled in May on the Monday after the big flood in Nashville, as with all the commotion, news, schools out I just forgot & didn't call to reschedule til the next day. But when I rescheduled for July, it hit my STATUS line on Facebook..Gone to have my Yearly Mammogram..FUN FUN..the day I get smashed like a pancake for my health & good! Wellness baby! Plus I reminded everyone in question form, "Have you had your yearly Mammogram?" As I am a stay-at- home for 13 years now, I schedule a luncheon date with the same gal I knew from my working world days to catch up each year. It is my yearly Downtown Nashville luncheon. Boy, does time fly we can't believe it is a year or two from the last lunch!

My best compliment or question asked once from the technician concerning mammogram was "You have breast implants?" She asked it in a way that she knew I had implants. I said I don't know if you ask everyone that question the same way, but I take that as a compliment. I answered NO, I just have what God gave me. Now, I was a bit younger then, maybe 40 or maybe that was at my baseline at age 35! LOL LOL
